The creator of this blog, Tom Baker hosted a meme-like event this past weekend. People from all over the globe took part in answering 20 questions about themselves and their blogs. All of the answers were posted at the very same time across the time zones with a few exceptions (glitches). The meme itself was designed to bring bloggers closer together. To make the world even smaller, if only for a few hours.

The day was spent with each blogger visiting blogs they had never been to before and responding to comment after comment after comment. I took part in Tom’s meme last year and it was a lot of fun. A whole lot of fun! Reading the responses to the questions gave a little insight into the personality of the blog owner all at once. It was an experience that might take weeks, months or even years to learn by just reading on post at a time on their blogs.

I give Tom credit. He is always coming up with new ways for people of various backgrounds, races, religions to unconsciously forget all of that for the moment and just socialize with one another. To just be friendly if not grow into a new friendship. In its own way it was a cultural event and it crossed my mind that Flavor Internationale is the same thing. It’s a global ‘think tank’ of sorts where everyone is welcome.

If you get the chance stop by Tom’s blog and read his responses to the questions and then go on to another random blog and read those answers. Leave a comment, and so on, and so on until you have visited and commented on all the blogs that participated.

The next meme is scheduled for July 2012. Consider being a part of it. There are no boundaries in this community…
